What is the big deal about exercise anyway?

Well exercise IS a big deal. We look at how our lifestyles have been affected by the change technological advances and we are starting to slow down and sit more. Of course this is not a new thing. It has been changing for years. Adults Kids are not going outside to play because of game boxes, smart TV’s and smart phones, tablets etc.

The data is out there and plenty of it that being sedentary or living sedentary lifestyles opens you up to many diseases and conditions.

  • Physical inactivity may contribute to anxiety and depression.
  • Physical inactivity has been shown to be a risk factor for certain cardiovascular diseases.

  • People who are more active are less likely to be overweight or obese.
  • Sitting too much may cause a decrease in skeletal muscle mass.
  • Physical inactivity is linked to high blood pressure and elevated cholesterol levels.

Here is another important list to read over about Lifestyle Conditions. From the Journal of Cardiology and Current research, Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) is the number 1 global cause of death. By 2030, the number of deaths is “estimated to rise to more than 23 million a year”.
